Maggie came into my life 10 years ago and showed the remarkable ability to detect my seizures from the beginning. With a little training, she became a master at her job. Since then, she has been my constant companion and soul mate. Even though my seizures are largely under control now, she has given me the blessing of being able to live a very productive life. At only 9 lbs., she is the most intelligent dog I have ever been around and can not only detect seizures but mood changes. But sadly, I found out that Maggie now has heart disease. I have no way of knowing how long she will continue to be with me. That is why I entered her into a contest to have her picture painted. It would mean the world to me to have her memorialized in this way and this particular artist does outstanding work.
