August 26th is National Dog Day! How cool is that? This very special day was founded by Colleen Paige, who is also the founder of Animal Miracle Network. Sadly, the mascot of this special day, Tinkerbelle, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Colleen is asking for your help if you can. The cost for the surgery, travel and MRI's is a staggering $50,000! If you can donate or help in anyway, please do check out Tinkerbelle's mascot page. Time is of the essence for Tink. Colleen is a very gifted painter and has some beautiful paintings for sale that will help fund for Tink's surgery.
My mom and I wanted to follow the wonderful example of our friend Shadrach and Dr. Kim Bloomer over at Bark 'N Blog who is offering free gifts for those that help spread the word about National Dog Day AND Tinkerbelle's need.
So I will be giving away two copies of my book Frankie, the Walk 'N Roll Dog and two copies of Frankie, the Walk 'N Roll Dog Activity Book for those who share National Dog Day and Tinkerbelle's request for help. Just send us some proof (joyfulpaws@yahoo.com) of how you shared this information, and your name (include your email) will be entered into the drawing for the books.
So on August 26th do something extra special with your dog on National Dog Day! Lots of extra hugs and some play time I'm sure would be most appreciated! I can't wait to get all my extra lovin'... though, I do get that everyday, I must say! tee hee
