So if you want a pet, we wholeheartedly recommend adoption. If you want a certain breed, many no kill centres (and indeed rescue organisations for that particular breed) have pure breds that have been abandoned or rescued, looking for a home. So adopt!
We love North Shore Animal League of America and Best Friends Animal Society who work hard to provide a home for all animals (and Best Friends have the hugely successful TV show, Dogtown). And right now they are working tirelessly to help the animals left starving and homeless after the devestating Haiti earthquakes. Click on the links above to see who is available for adoption (or to make donations to these amazing organisations).
And we just came across petango.com. The online service provides links to many different reputable shelters across the country so you’re sure to find your perfect pet with their help.
So now you have a number of options to help you find your perfect, furry friend, and all without having to leave your home or office (at least initially).
